Valentine Treats!

My granddaughter needed Valentines for her day care. So grandma got started. The class is the 1 1/2 – 2 years of age so I wanted to use the fruit snacks in some way. I came up with an oversize match box holder. Usually the matchbox size holder is usually a great fit for Ghiradelli’s. My template is 9 1/4 x 3 1/2. I then scored it at 3/4, 4, 4 1/4. Use your bone folder to get good creases.

My base is Sweet Sorbet cardstock, and the I used the country gingham DSP from the Mini catalog pg. 9 I cut a 5/8 x 3 piece for the front tab, then a 3 3/4 x 3 1/4 piece for the front, attaching all with tombo glue. Using the country bouquet punch, punch out hearts and also using other heart punches, just punched out random hearts and attached to the front panel. The greeting is stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink on to a strip of white cardstock 1/2″ wide and cut to fit, and then I flagged the end. Before attaching the greeting I attached the fruit snack on the inside with adhesive, just to hold it in place, then bring the front panel down and attach the greeting to so that it helps hold the flap closed. Some I had to add another heart at the bottom to help with keeping it closed. I sent additional larger punched out white hearts so that my daughter could add a from on the heart and attach to the inside flap.

I think these will be a hit with the littles. You could use any paper and punches to make this work for your Valentines. You could even change it up to some of our animal stamps to make them more for the older children. Give it a try and have fun with it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a great day and Be Creative!
